WhatsApp Business Calling
Make and receive voice calls directly through WhatsApp Business API.
Prerequisites
- Your number must be enrolled in Meta's WhatsApp Business Calling program
- Business Calling must be enabled in your account settings
- WebRTC-compatible browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
Enabling calling
- Go to Settings → WhatsApp Accounts → Your Account
- Toggle "Business Calling Enabled" to ON
- Only enable this AFTER Meta has enrolled your number
Making outgoing calls
- Open a conversation with a contact
- Click the 📞 Call button in the header
- The call initiates via WebRTC
- Wait for the customer to answer
Receiving incoming calls
When a customer calls your WhatsApp Business number:
- A call notification appears in AIsoule
- Click "Answer" to pick up
- The call connects via WebRTC in your browser

Call recording
If enabled by your admin:
- Calls are recorded automatically
- Recordings are stored securely (S3)
- Access recordings from the call log
IVR system
Set up automated voice menus:
- Go to Chatbot → IVR Flows
- Build a flow with voice prompts and DTMF routing
- Callers hear options and press numbers to navigate
Tips
- Test with a colleague first — Verify audio quality
- Use a headset — Better audio than laptop speakers
- Quiet environment — Background noise affects call quality
- Check permissions — Browser must have microphone access
