Sending payment links in chat

Close deals instantly by sending payment links directly in WhatsApp conversations.

Prerequisites

  • Payment gateway configured (Razorpay or Stripe) — see Payment gateway setup
  • Active conversation within the 24-hour window
  1. Open the conversation
  2. Click the 💳 Payment button in the header
  3. Fill in:
    • Amount — The payment amount
    • Currency — INR, USD, etc.
    • Description — What the payment is for (e.g., "Invoice #123", "Product XYZ")
  4. Click "Create & Send"

The customer receives a clickable link that opens a secure payment page.

What the customer sees

The customer receives a message like:

💳 Payment Request

Amount: ₹999
For: Premium Plan - Monthly

[Pay Now →]

When they tap "Pay Now", their browser opens with the payment form (Razorpay/Stripe checkout).

Tracking payment status

After sending, you can see the payment status in the conversation:

  • Created — Link sent, waiting for payment
  • Paid ✅ — Customer completed payment
  • Failed — Payment attempt failed
  • Expired — Link expired without payment

Tips

  1. Include clear descriptions — "Monthly subscription" is better than "Payment"
  2. Send during conversation — Higher conversion when customer is engaged
  3. Follow up — If not paid within a few hours, send a gentle reminder
  4. Confirm receipt — Send a thank you message after payment is confirmed
