Importing recipients from segments

Use your saved contact segments to quickly add targeted recipients to campaigns.

How to import from a segment

  1. In your campaign, click "Add Recipients"
  2. Select the "From Lists" tab
  3. You'll see your custom segments with contact counts
  4. Click "Import" next to the segment you want
  5. All contacts in that segment are added as recipients

What segments are available

Only custom segments (ones you created) appear in the list. System segments (All Contacts, Unread, etc.) are not available for campaign import.

Why use segments for campaigns

  • Targeted messaging — Send to "VIP Customers" not everyone
  • Better engagement — Relevant messages get higher read rates
  • Lower block rate — People who want your messages won't block you
  • Reusable — Same segment can be used for multiple campaigns

Example workflow

  1. Create segment: "Customers in Mumbai who bought in last 30 days"
  2. Create campaign with a relevant offer for Mumbai customers
  3. Import from that segment
  4. Send — highly targeted, highly relevant

Tips

  1. Create segments before campaigns — Plan your targeting first
  2. Check segment count — Make sure it has enough contacts
  3. Refresh segments — Segment contacts update dynamically, but check before importing
  4. Combine with personalization — Segment + personalized variables = best results
