Adding and managing contacts

Contacts are the people you communicate with on WhatsApp. Here's how to manage them.

Adding a contact manually

  1. Go to Contacts in the sidebar
  2. Click "New Contact"
  3. Fill in:
    • Phone Number (required) — Include country code (e.g., +919876543210)
    • Name — Contact's full name
    • Email — Optional email address
  4. Click Save

The contact is now available for messaging and campaigns.

Contacts are created automatically

Contacts are also created automatically when:

  • A new person messages your WhatsApp number
  • You import contacts from CSV
  • A contact is added via API
  • A chatbot flow captures a new number

Viewing contact details

Click on any contact to see:

  • Profile — Name, phone, email, tags, custom fields
  • Conversation — Full message history
  • Activity timeline — Messages, notes, stage changes, calls
  • Engagement score — How active this contact is

Editing a contact

  1. Open the contact
  2. Click on any field to edit it
  3. Changes save automatically

You can edit:

  • Name, email, phone
  • Tags (add/remove)
  • Custom fields
  • Lifecycle stage
  • Assigned agent

Deleting a contact

  1. Open the contact
  2. Click the "Delete" button (or menu → Delete)
  3. Confirm deletion

⚠️ Deleting a contact removes all their data including message history. This cannot be undone.

Bulk operations

Select multiple contacts to perform bulk actions:

  1. In the contacts list, check the boxes next to contacts
  2. A toolbar appears with options:
    • Assign — Assign all selected to an agent
    • Tag — Add a tag to all selected
    • Delete — Delete all selected

Searching contacts

Use the search bar at the top of the contacts list to find contacts by:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Tags

Contact limits

There's no limit on the number of contacts you can store in AIsoule. All plans include unlimited contacts.
